Dialup Internet Access
Cyberverse offers dialup and ISDN Internet access using a standard phone line and modem, or using one- or two-channel ISDN. Access speeds can be as high as 128 Kbps. Local dialup access is available for much of southern California; see the table below for current access numbers.

Conventional Dialup Service
Cyberverse offers conventional dialup Internet access using standard analog modems. Data transfer speeds range up to 56 Kbps. (Actual speed may vary with line quality.) Data is transferred via standard telephone line, limiting the phone line to that function only while the user is connected. Requirements for conventional dialup service are:

  • A standard analog phone line.
  • User-supplied modem.
  • An account at Cyberverse.

ISDN Service
ISDN is a high-quality, switched digital communications product that gives your single phone line the ability to transmit voice, data, and packet data simultaneously at a relatively low cost. The most common ISDN service, Basic Rate Interface (BRI), provides:

  • One or two 64 Kbps channels per line.
  • With two channels bonded in a single connection, one can attain a speed of 128 Kbps.
  • Most Southern California area codes available.
Requirements for ISDN service are:
  • Installation of ISDN service by one's local phone company.
  • User-supplied Network Terminating Device (NTD).
  • User-supplied modem.
  • An account at Cyberverse.
